Garfield Dir RehomeWolverhampton

Garfield is approx 10 years old and is looking for a home under our Direct Rehoming Scheme.

An unneutered male, he picked up the FIV virus from fighting. Cats can live a long and happy life with the virus, it just means they have a compromised immune system so need to live as an indoor cat, ideally with a safe enclosed outdoor space. Other than that there's no reason why they shouldn’t live as long as a normal cat and many live longer without the dangers cats encounter from free roaming. Garfield is now neutered, has recently had a full dental and his kidneys and liver are fine. A handsome dude who is a cuddle monster and will sit with you or on you all evening if you let him!

He needs an adult only home. A boisterous house or one where young children visit regularly isn’t for him. He really enjoyed being outdoors so we’d love to find someone who has a catio or secure garden so he can still have the outdoor experience but is contained in a safe environment.

To help people find new homes for cats they are unable to keep, we try to help via our DHS. This consists of advertising the cat on our website with as much info that we are aware of with a view to putting the prospective adopter in touch with the current carer. Each prospective adopter still has a home visit even though the cat is not the care of Cats Protection.

All known info regarding any cat on our DHS will be given to the prospective adopter at the time of the home visit. We make no claim to have accurate knowledge of the cat, its health, vaccination status, or whether it is neutered, microchipped etc. All rehomings are subject to a successful home visit. If you live in rented/leasehold property we require written consent to have a cat(s) from the landlord, management company or freeholder (whichever applies) to be obtained before a home visit can be done.
